Projection of the film  Ennio, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, starring Ennio Moriccone, Clint Eastwood and Terrence Malik, which was released in July 2022. Synopsis: Ennio Morricone, aged 8, dreamt of becoming a doctor. But his father decided he would play the trumpet, like him. From the conservatoire to the Oscar for Best Composer, the itinerary of one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century.

 

Followed by dinner at Le Bistro Armando,(https://bistro-armando.fr/) in a private room, with music, readings, entertainments and songs.

Guillaume VINCENT, piano & Laure-Hélène MICHEL, cello

 

Guillaume VINCENT

Guillaume Vincent began to play the piano at the age of seven and gave his first concerts , with orchestral accompaniment, at the age of ten. He went on to play Mozart’s  Concerto N° 21 and the Concerto N° 3 in C minor by Beethoven.When he was 13, François-René Duchâble , who had known him since he was born, enabled him to study in the class of Jacques Rouvier and Prisca Benoit at the Conservatoire in Paris. He also studied piano with Jean-François Heisser and Marie-Josèphe Jude, and harmony with Yves Henry and attended Masterclasses with Duchâble. In 2011, he obtained his postgraduate degree in Artistic Interpretation.

 

In 2008, Vincent had received First Prize at the Clara Schumann Competition for Young Pianists in Leipzig. A year later, he received  third Grand Prix at the Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition in Paris, and also, the National Orchestra of France   Prize.

Vincent has played at many of the great concert halls around the world, such as Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Barbican Hall in London, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salle Pleyel, and the Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Palais des Arts in Budapest, and the Simon Bolivar Hall in Caracas.

He has played with orchestras like the Radio Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Budapest, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Kanagawa, the National Orchestra of Bordeaux, the National Orchestra of Lille, the National Orchestra of Toulouse and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.                   

Vincent prefers playing works by the Romantic composers like Chopin or Liszt (Years of Pilgrimage), the 2nd Piano Concertos of Saint-Saens and Rachmaninov,  but also more contemporay composers like Satie or the Concerto for 2 pianos by Poulenc. He also performs with Chamber Music ensembles. His first recording, in 2012, was a double CD of the Preludes of Rachmaninov, on the Naive label, (10 Preludes, op.23, 13 Preludes, op.32, Prelude in C sharp minor, op. 3 n° 2).

He played at the Château, with Thomas Leleu, in September 2023.

 

Laure-Hélène MICHEL

Laure-Hélène began playing the violin when she was three year’s old and won her first competition at the age of six. Later she enrolled in the CRR in Lyon, and earned A Masters at the CNSMD, then moving on to the Mozarteum in Salzburg. She obtained a second Masters, with Distinction, with François Salque, at the High School of Music, in Lausanne. She also plays with violinist Renaud Capuçon,  in his string ensemble, Les Lausanne Soloists, as well as playing solo regularly  with several famous orchestras. She recorded her first album, with piano, in 2018, devoted to Schumann and Brahms, with Theo Penven, thanks to the HEMVO of Lausanne, an album which marked the birth of «Duo Novae». In 2019, she formed a duo with organist Thibaut Duret and also recorded a second album, « Evocations»,in duo, with her sister Aude-Liesse.

She joined Le Trio Metral 2021. They released an album,  devoted to the trios of Ernest Chausson and Maurice Ravel, in Autumn 2023, on the Dolce Label. They are currently in residence at the Fondation Singer Polignac in Paris.
